Maybe his obsession with blood was a perfectly natural result of slaughtering his family. It was logical, after all. Many people who went through traumatic experiences developed masochism... he just happened to develop a sadistic bloodlust instead. But he was a prince, so it made sense... At least he thought it did, and that's all he cared about. Blood of the royal clan -- his own blood -- caused him to remember the day he stabbed his brother to death. He looked like a cockroach, so it was an easy enough mistake to make... surely everyone had done it at least once in their life. But to the point: when he saw the blood, his brother's blood, his own blood, he wanted more. He wanted to feel the rush of the kill, the ripping of organs, the warmth of fresh blood on his hands. It was beautiful... oh so beautiful... no one could blame him, could they? No one could deny the elegant simplicity of death.
So maybe he wasn't insane.
After all, he did appear to be as innocent as any 15 year old should be. His actions seemed affectionate when he meant for them to be, and even his insults sounded as if in jest (save the occasional physical attack with his knives) when spoken from his serpentine tongue. But his pride would not allow for this facade to be reality. His casual threats were real, dangerous. Soulless. And then then there was the issue of his neuroticism, his superiority complex, and his vanity... But he was a price, so it was okay.[/style]
